Sun Group, Rajini contribute for COVID relief

Chennai: Sun TN Network Group and actor Rajnikanth Monday contributed Rs 10 crore and Rs 50 lakh respectively to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund towards COVID relief.

Sun Group Chairman Kalanidhi Maran met Chief Minisetr M K Stalin and presented a cheque for Rs 10 crore towards COVID relief.

Rajinikanth also met Stalin at the State Secretariat and handed over a cheque for Rs 50 lakh for COVID relief.

Later, talking to reporters, Rajini said people should follow the safety protocols prescribed by the government and cooperate in fighting the pandemic.

”Everyone should wear masks and follow the social distancing norms to protect themselves from getting infected”, he said.

A few days ago, the actor’s younger daughter Soundarya took to social media and said she and her family members contributed Rs one crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund towards COVID relief.
