State Home Dept opens cell for Manipuri citizens stranded in Ukraine

The above Cell will function from Room No.186 of Old Secretariat, Imphal Phone No. 0385-2450981 from 9 am to 8 pm every day including holidays.

Imphal: A Cell in the State Home Department has been constituted to liaise with the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India to assist the parents/relatives of Manipuri citizens presently stranded in Ukraine because of the outbreak of war, and to bring them back to India, as per an office memorandum issued by the Special Secretary (Home) Government of Manipur, H Gyan Prakash.

The above Cell will function from Room No.186 of Old Secretariat, Imphal Phone No. 0385-2450981 from 9 am to 8 pm every day including holidays. Calls beyond this period in case of 0385-2451100 emergency may be made to (Police Control Room). It shall be manned by the following officers: Joint Secretary, Rehanuddin Choudhury, mobile no 9436034077; Deputy Secretary, Peter Salam, mobile no 005257760; Deputy Secretary Dr. Th. Charanjeet Singh, mobile no 7005521858; Deputy Secretary, Roji Rajkumari, mobile no 9089264355.

They will be assisted by Inspector S. Rudra Narayan Singh, Inspector O. Ajit Singh, M. A. Perkimjit, Naresh Joykumar Singh, Ningombam and Thangmilian Hangshing of the Home Department.

Parents and relatives may send the detailed particulars as below of their children stranded in Ukraine to address State Home jointsecretaryho@gmail.com (with cc to manipurbhawan@gmail.com), in order to enable the Department to take up the matter with the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India and assistance for their evacuation and safe return to India.

Parents and relatives should provide the following details: Name of the stranded person with address and contact numbers including Whatsapp number, Occupation, Address in Ukraine, Passport details, Parent(s) name with address and contact number.

 The above officer(s) and Deputy Resident Commissioner,  L. H. Ngathingshim, will share the information received relating to the stranded Manipuri citizens and contact the designated officers of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India and also disseminate the information to the parents and relatives on the steps taken up and being taken up by the Ministry for their expeditious evacuation, the office memorandum added.
