Sri Lanka seeks help from Kerala

Colombo: Sri Lanka, which is battling its worst economic crisis, is now seeking assistance from Kerala.

The Deputy High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in Chennai, Dr. D Venkateshwaran, made the SOS in meetings with the Chief Minister and Governor of Kerala on Friday, the Daily News reported on Saturday.

The report said the Sri Lankan diplomat “sought assistance from the state government of Kerala to get over the current crisis situation”.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan reportedly agreed to assist Sri Lanka, it added.
