SPIC MACAY team calls on Manipur Governor

The Governor appreciated their efforts putting forward to inculcate the rich cultural heritage amongst the youth of the country.

Imphal: A team of SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture amongst Youth) led by its founder Professor Dr. Kiran Seth, Padmashree Awardee with five others including Dr Wahengbam Ibomcha, Coordinator NE, SPIC MACAY called on the Governor of Manipur, Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan Saturday evening and apprised her about the activities taken up to promote and preserve Indian classical music and arts. 

They said their main aim is to inculcate the rich cultural heritage of the country amongst the youth and therefore its main activities are strictly concentrated in the educational institutes only. 

Exponent artists of India in their respective fields perform and interact with students during the yearlong activities like viraasat, lecture demonstrations, workshops etc. The team also submitted a proposal to the Governor. 

The Governor appreciated their efforts putting forward to inculcate the rich cultural heritage amongst the youth of the country. The Governor said it will help to recognize the beauty of our heritage. 

It will help in reducing their mental stress, anxiety or depression, especially in Manipur. Governor wished the team for their initiative and future endeavours.
