Special train with 8 Cryogenic Containers of Oxygen arrives in Bengaluru

Bengaluru: The fifth Oxygen Express special train arrived at Whitefield, in the outskirts of the city, from Tatanagar, Jharkhand.

A signal free ‘Green Corridor’ was created by the Railways to enable swift transport of Oxygen express.

The train carried 8 Cryogenic Containers and each cryogenic container carried 20 Tonnes Liquid Medical Oxygen (Total tonnage: 160 Tonnes), according to a SWR release here on Thursday.

So far, Karnataka has received 640 Tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen by Rail. Indian Railways has so far run 196 Oxygen Expresses and transported nearly 11,800 Tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen all over the country to assist state governments in their fight against Covid -19.
