New Delhi: Several Congress leaders have expressed reservations over the induction of Prashant Kishor in their party and the final decision will be taken by interim president Sonia Gandhi, party sources said here on Thursday.

They said that consultations have been held with party leaders over the induction of Prashant Kishor and there has been a mixed response from party leaders, with many expressing reservations on the issue.

While Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi have approved of it, many senior leaders have expressed their reservations to the party president, sources said adding that a final decision will be taken by Sonia Gandhi in the coming days.

Though some leaders were against Kishor’s induction in to the party, yet, there are many who are impressed with the victory of Trinamool Congress in West Bengal and DMK in Tamil Nadu.

Notably, both TMC and DMK consulted Prashant Kishor for better poll prospects.

Rahul and Priyanka have earlier also worked with Kishor in Uttar Pradesh when he was advising the Samajwadi Party. However, the Congress-SP alliance lost to the Bharatiya Janata Party.

After the death of Sonia Gandhi’s advisor Ahmed Patel, a vacuum has been created in Congress, and Kishor is being looked at to fill this.
