Serchhip: The Mizoram State Special Investigation Team on forest fire, headed by RS Sinha, IFS, Chief Conservator of Forests (Administration), Mizoram along with all team members visited places where recent fires had broken out in Serchhip district Tuesday.
The team visited Serchhip Chanmary, and Dawngzawl areas where two forest fires broke out and also inspected the areas over Thinglian from the nearby visible location due to its inaccessibility because of the recent monsoon rain.
They looked into various circumstances of the forest fire occurrences, spoke with the local leaders with important queries in order to be better prepared in case of future outbreaks.
The SIT team had also conducted Virtual meeting with district authority and district level representatives of NGOs on 21st May, 2021.
