New Delhi: Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Monday alleged he received a message from BJP that all cases against him will be closed if he joins the party.

In a tweet on Monday morning, Sisodia alleged, “BJP’s message has come to me – break AAP and join BJP, all CBI ED cases will be closed”.

“My reply to BJP – I am a Rajput, a descendant of Maharana Pratap. I will cut off my head but will not bow down in front of the corrupt-conspirators. All the cases against me are false. Do whatever you want to do,” he said.

In another tweet later, he said, “My message to BJP on offer to make me CM candidate – Arvind Kejriwal is my political guru, I will never betray him. I did not come here to become the CM, my dream is – every child of the country should get good education, only then India will not become the number one country. Only Kejriwal ji can do this work in the whole country”.

Sisodia, along with Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is in Gujarat campaigning for the upcoming state polls.

At a town hall event here, Kejriwal said BJP wanted to stop the education and health related work being done by the Delhi government.

“If (former) health minister Satyendra Jain was corrupt, I would have thrown him out. Now they want to arrest Sisodia. Their aim is to shut down education-healthcare related work in Delhi,” he said.

“This is a ‘dharmyudh’ like Mahabharat. BJP has CBI, ED, IT, Police, they have the whole army… we have “Sri Krishna”. Truth shall win ultimately,” he said.

A number of AAP leaders also held press conferences and slammed the BJP.

AAP MP Sanjay Singh said BJP failed in its attempt to “topple the Delhi government”.

“They wanted to topple the Delhi government by offering the deputy CM to close all CBI-ED cases by switching over to the party but they did not know that our party emerged from a people’s movement. The whole country is now watching BJP’s conduct and people will respond at the right time,” Singh said.

He also named leaders like Mukul Roy, Himanta Biswa Sarma, and Ajit Pawar, and said corruption allegations against hem were forgotten after they joined the BJP.

Delhi MP Manoj Tiwari took a dig at Sisodia, and said, “Manish said his phone was taken away by the CBI. On whose phone did he get the message, he should clarify and get it verified”.

At the same event, Sisodia said he is an “honest soldier” of the AAP, and is not scared of CBI raids.

The Delhi deputy chief minister was raided by the CBI on August 19 in a case related to alleged irregularities and corruption in Delhi’s liquor policy which was introduced earlier this year. CBI has also named him in an FIR.

The new excise policy has been severely criticized by the Opposition BJP and Congress. With the new excise policy, the Delhi government fully exited the liquor business and handed over all the liquor vends across the city to the private players.

The new excise policy now stands withdrawn by the Delhi government.
