Mumbai: The BSE Sensex on Tuesday gained 123.34 5 pts at 61,065.01 in opening trade on the strength of FMCG, Financial Services, Auto and Bankex stocks.
The Nifty too rose 36.20 pts at 18,154.75.
The sensex registered intra day high and low at 61,266.06 and 60,974.67 pts respectively.
The Nifty recorded intra day high and low at 18,201.25 and 18,123.60 pts respectively.
The Mid Cap fell by 0.08 pc while small Cap by moved up by 0.01 pc.
The gainers were Tata motors by 2.14 pc to Rs 417.20, Asian Paints by 1.29 pc to Rs 2821.65, HDFC Bank by 1.09 pc to Rs 1690.30, Infosys by 1.85 pc to Rs 1561 and HCL Technology by 0.84 pc to Rs 1130.60.
The losers were Axis Bank by 1.77 pc to Rs 916.80, Powergrid by 0.87 pc to Rs 223, Bharti Airtel by 0.83 pc to Rs 766.30 and Sun Pharma by 0.62 pc to Rs 1042.95.
