Senapati: In continuance of 4 years of celebration of achievement by the Government of Manipur, the District Administration of Senapati initiated awareness on Village Health & Nutrition, COVID Appropriate Behaviour & COVID vaccination, War against Drugs at Multi-Purpose Hall, Senapati District Headquarter.
M Pradip Singh, speaking on the occasion, stated the poppy plantation destruction have been started some few years ago because it is illegal and not beneficial to the human body. Instead, he suggested alternate cropping like Lemon Grass (popularly known as CC Tea). He applauded the public of Tadubi Sub- Division as there is no poppy plantation in the Sub- Division. Lastly, he appealed to all the public present to co-operate with the police for the well-being of the society.
Dr Ng Peter, District Nodal Officer, Mental Health, Senapati in his speech stated that the World Health Organisation declared the outbreak on COVID 19 as public emergency on January 20, 2020 and on 11 March, 2020 as pandemic. He said that people of Senapati can proudly claimed that fight has been won but yet it is not fully over as there is an ongoing of second wave. The contentment in the district was successful due to the able systematic approached of both the former and present DC along with the cooperation from every level of people, he added.
Dr Pfokrehe Pfoze, Chief Medical Officer, Senapati in his speech highlighted the initiatives taken up by the government in the last four years. He also mentioned about the implementation of PMJAY (Ayushman Bharat) and CMHT where the needy can avail themselves with the financial assistance from the government in the empanelled Hospitals.
In today’s programme, Various CSO’s from NPO, SDWA and SDSA applauded the government for various developmental works and initiatives taken up especially during the covid pandemic time. They look forward to join hand in hand in all aspects for the upliftment of the society.
After the programme, a walkathon was conducted and participated by the members present from Mini Secretariat to Traffic point of bazaar area with the banner and placard were displayed.
Various stalls from health and social welfare were made available with the facilities of testing Malaria, Blood, Suger, Hypertension. Mid Day meal were also displayed.
Besides, the programme was celebrated in a befitting manner at the Block level, health centres and Anganwadi centres across the district. The programme was attended by DLO’s, Medical staff workers like ASHA, Anganwadi workers and various CSO’s.
