​Senapati: The District Level Football Tournament for the prestigious 65th Edition of the Subroto Cup International Football Tournament concluded today at the Astro Turf Ground, showcasing the exceptional talent of the region’s young athletes. The tournament was organized by the District Youth Affairs and Sports Office, Senapati.
Asufii Christian School (ACS) dominated the tournament, securing championship titles in both the Under-15 and Under-17 Boys categories during the two thrilling final matches against Don Bosco Higher Secondary School (DBHSS), Maram. The ACS Under-15 squad delivered a good finishing score of 3-0, while the Under-17 team sealed their double victory with 2-0.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Chief Guest Panii Ngaonii, Jr. MCS, SDC Senapati, congratulated all the participants and lauded the high level of competition. He urged the district’s young athletes to elevate their game and set their sights on national and international success. He stated that our district champions must break past previous limitations and aim high as they advance to the upcoming state-level tournament. The SDC outlined three core pillars vital for the development of young athletes on Maintaining peak physical condition safely, Mental Strength and Character and building True Sportsmanship. Furthermore, Ngaonii appealed to the players to carry the values of teamwork and mutual support beyond the football pitch, encouraging them to use their platforms to uplift their peers and the wider society.
The tournament concluded with the SDC distributing championship trophies and certificates to the winners and runners-up, marking an inspiring end to a highly competitive district edition.
The final programme of District Level Football Tournament 65th Edition Subroto Cup International, 2026 was also attended by Joram Koveo, President, Senapati District Olympic Association of Manipur, Isaiah, President, District Sports Association, Youth Officers and staffs from DYASO, Senapati and school faculty members.
