Imphal: Security has been tightened in and around the Bharatiya Janaparty Party office, here ahead of the expected announcement of its first list of candidates for the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election.
Sources said the Parliamentary Board meeting of the party is scheduled to be held at 2 pm in Delhi, after which the name of the first list of candidates will be announced.
Nearly 160 intending candidates are seeking tickets for the ruling party, said the sources and added that a few MLAs are likely to be dropped from the list.
