SCPC under the aegis of MLA R K Imo provides Covid relief to van drivers

A sum of Rs 3000 each was given to around 80 registered school van drivers belonging to Sagolband AC as a token gesture to enable them to overcome the tough times due to curfew/lockdown.

Imphal: Another round of Covid Relief drive was conducted by Sagolband Constituency Progressive Committee under the leadership of MLA Sagolband A/C, RK Imo Singh here on Wednesday.

A sum of Rs 3000 each was given to around 80 registered school van drivers belonging to Sagolband AC as a token gesture to enable them to overcome the tough times due to curfew/lockdown. As many have lost their livelihoods during this period, it was imperative to take certain measures to help the people during these times, said R K Imo.

The government has also come forward with various schemes for those affected people across various sections of the society including these Van Drivers. It is also informed that any registered school van driver who has not received this relief may contact the SCPC/MLA office and avail the faculty after submitting the required documents.

Stating that assistance of Rs 20,000 to the family members of those who died due to Covid during this second phase has already been providing, RK Imo Singh also said it is the prime objective to serve the people of Manipur and Sagolband for which He is fully focused upon and will continue to serve the people especially during these tough times of Covid, he added.

RK Imo Singh further stated that essential/edible items will be distributed for the month of August from Wednesday to 8500 members of the Women Wing of Sagolband Constituency Progressive Committee. Sagolband has women voters numbering around 12500 out of which 8500 women are registered with SCPC Women Wing.

“It is our aim to provide these edible items throughout the year even if COVID curfew is relaxed. SCPC has also distributed edible items to every household/kitchen numbering 9000 families across Sagolband once during this second phase of Covid. SCPC is also focusing on all containment areas by providing essential items to all quarantined/isolated houses, he added.
