Saturday sees 15 deaths, 801 positive cases, 981 recoveries in Manipur

Imphal: In the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Saturday, Manipur registered 15 Covid related deaths, 801(782 common population, 9 CAPF) new positive cases and 981 recoveries, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.

The 15 persons who succumbed to the deadly pandemic include three each from Imphal West and Imphal East, two each from Imphal Bishnupur, Churachandpur and Kakching and one each from Chandel, Kangpokpi and Thoubal. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 1,556.

Of the 15 persons who succumbed to Covid 19, only six of them have been vaccinated with the 1st dose.

Of the 792 persons(369 males, 423 females) who tested positive among the general population, 220 of them are from Imphal West, 104 from Imphal East, 98 from Churachandpur, 69 from Thoubal, 68 from Kakching, 54 from Bishnupur, 20 from Noney, 19 from Pherzawl, 14 from Senapati,12 from Kangpokpi, 11 from Tamenglong, seven from Chandel, six from Ukhrul, four from Jiribam, three from Tengnoupal and two from Kamjong.

Altogether 6,965 persons were tested on Saturday giving a slightly better positivity rate of 12.4%.

Meanwhile, of the 981 persons who were discharged, 412 are from home isolation, 298 from CHICs, 252 from CCCs, 17 from RIMS and two from JNIMS. The recovery rate in the state stands at 87.43% on Thursday.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 98,499(General Population – 94,513, Central Security Personnel – 3,986). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 86,403(General Population – 82,468, Central Security Personnel – 3,935). The number of active cases is 10,540(General Population – 10,494, Personnel – 46).

Altogether, 16,179 persons were vaccinated on July 30, 2021. The cumulative number of vaccination is 13,06,313(1st dose 10,98,387, 2nd dose 2,07,926).
