Moscow: Russia has decided to suspend cooperation with Germany on experiments on the International Space Station (ISS), Dmitry Rogozin, the head of Russia’s state-owned space corporation Roscosmos, said on Thursday.

The official said that taking into account the “completely unacceptable actions of our German colleagues, primarily the German Aerospace Center”, they had decided to turn off the (Russian–German) Spektr-RG space observatory, located at a distance of 1.5 million km from Earth at the La Grange L2 point.

“From today, we are ceasing interaction with this organization, including in terms of scientific experiments in the Russian segment of the International Space Station. We will conduct these experiments ourselves, on our own — we have all the necessary resources for this. The European colleagues who opted for such politicization of our relations, they will be left with nothing,” Rogozin said.
