Imphal: A one-day orientation workshop of Private Register Troupes (PRTs) on Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) campaign for the Manipur Legislative Assembly Elections, 2022 was organised by the Regional Outreach Bureau, Imphal, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India at its auditorium Monday. 

Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Manipur, Ramananda Nongmeikapam; Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Manipur, Md. Daulat Khan; former Director, IPR,  Meghachandra Kongbam and Head of Office, Regional Outreach Bureau, Imphal Dr. Aribam Ibomcha Sharma, were the presidium members.

During the SVEEP workshop, educating new and young voters on how to vote on EVM, the purpose of voter-verifiable paper audit trail (VVPAT), dos and don’ts of election code of conduct, use of cVIGIL App, registration of voters on ECI portal and communicating the masses through traditional form and inter-personal communication were discussed amongst others. The Joint Chief Electoral Officers also urged the electorates to call 1950 toll-free number for voter-related queries.
