Imphal: Sagolband Assembly constituency MLA Raj Kumar Imo inaugurated Wednesday a community Hall at Bijoy Govinda, here.
The community hall was constructed under the Local Area Development Fund at the cost of around Rs 30 lakhs.
Speaking on the occasion, the lawmaker informed that the historically important Thangapat (Moat) at Bijoy Govinda will be developed and beautified soon for which the proposal has already been approved by the state government.
Imo also ensured that most roads in his constituency are black topped up to their respective gates. Most localities have been installed with street lights, and one can see a difference in Sagolband before he was elected MLA nine years back, he claimed.

Stating that there were no street lamps on any main road, Imo said every main road and locality now has been lighted. New water pipes have all been laid … Water reservoir at Tera Boys will be completed by year-end thus giving a big boost to the people of the nearby locality in solving water issues, he added. Imo hoped that since the construction of the retaining wall of Nambul river is almost complete there will be not much overflowing of Nambul river, which was a regular feature.
Every entitled person in Sagolband is being given NFSA rice, he informed.
