Kangra:A guest faculty teacher of the Central University of Himachal Pradesh (CUHP) accused of raping a girl student of Central University, Dehra, under the pretext of marrying her, after completing his two days of police remand, was presented in Dehra court today and remanded to judicial custody for 14 days by the court.
The alleged rape accused teacher of CUHP arrested by Dehra police on Tuesday evening after a case was registered under section 376 IPC following an FIR lodged against him by the victim girl.
Dehra Sub Divisional Police Officer Vishal Verma told UNI that the accused lecturer of the CUHP at Dehra, resident of Bihar, was teaching the students of the CUHP lured one of his girl students resident of a neighbouring state under pretext of marrying her but allegedly raped her.
SDPO Dehra told UNI on Thursday that following a complaint lodged by the victim at Dehra police station, the girl was medically examined, following which the police arrested the accused teacher.
On Thursday the accused teacher was presented in the Dehra court after two day police remand was completed today was remanded to 14 day judicial custody and sent to Dharà mshala.
