New Delhi: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Monday launched a fresh attack on the Narendra Modi-led government over various issues related to the farmers, and accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of unleashing ‘atrocities’ on them.
“PM’s ‘farmers harassment scheme’: No compensation to martyr farmers; no data on farmers suicide; waived off ‘friends’ debt, but not farmers; false promise on Minimum Support Price. Benefitted insurance companies of Rs 40,000 crore in the name of Fasal Bima,’ he wrote in a tweet in Hindi.
Taking a dig at the ruling BJP over doubling farmers’ income by 2022, the former Congress president said, “Double farmer’s income by 2022, but has doubled the harassment.”
Congress has been accusing the ruling dispensation of failing to address the farmer’s issues, including MSP.
