Imphal: Assam Rifles, on March 6, 2025, once again demonstrated swift response and aided the population by containing a massive fire in Hijang Village, Kangpokpi District, Manipur.  

Troops on routine patrolling detected a fire rapidly spreading through the village at approximately 6:25 PM. Reacting with precision and speed, the Assam Rifles immediately mobilised to the site, executing a well-coordinated rescue and containment effort. Their prompt action ensured the safe evacuation of 25 civilians, including women and children, while preventing the fire from engulfing nearby structures. 

The quick reaction and efficient execution of firefighting measures prevented significant damage, highlighting the force’s ability to respond decisively in crisis situations, stated a press note from the PRO, IGAR(S).
