Imphal: Health & Family Welfare and IPR Minister Dr. Sapam Ranjan Singh has said that the quality of food items which we consume in our day today life, needs to be checked properly. By doing such exercise regularly will help to prevent from consuming unhygienic food.
Minister Ranjan was speaking on the occasion of the Convocation ceremony of Green Can held at the MSFDS auditorium, Palace Compound, here Thursday.
He maintained that the Food Safety Department has been checking the quality of food on a regular basis. Our health is very much related with what we eat, he stated.
Packaged food imported from outside the state is not certainly quality guaranteed. Such imported food items and packages may look attractive but we are not sure of the contents and quality, he added.
Ranjan informed that a new trend of visiting restaurants has been witnessed during the past few years. For quality and hygienic food, quality and sincere staff are required.
Speaking as president, MLA, Thangmeiband Assembly Constituency, Kh. Joykishan Singh said that the entrepreneurial works done by the Managing Director, Green Can will bring a change in the field of Bakery and Culinary Arts in the state. Providing training to the youths of the state will also help to generate employment for the unemployed youths. Joykishan also congratulated the successful trainees who have passed out from Green Can Institute.
Deputy Commissioner, Imphal East, Kh. Diana Devi, IAS, Director, Health Services, Manipur, Dr. K. Rajo, Chairman & MD, Thangjam Agro Industry Pvt. Ltd. Th. Joykumar Singh, Chairman, Green Can, Birendra Laishram and Managing Director, Green Can, Justin Laishram also shared the dais.
Certificates were also distributed to those passed out trainees as a part of the convocation program.
