New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajgath here on Sunday, ahead of his relinquishing charge from the post.
“President Ram Nath Kovind paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat before relinquishing charge as the President of India on July 25,” Kovind’s office wrote in a tweet.
During his tenure, the President has urged citizens to follow the teachings and ideals of Gandhi and take inspiration from his life, it said.
The President will address the nation on Sunday evening on the eve of his demitting office.
The address will be broadcast from 1900 hours on the entire national network of All India Radio (AIR) and telecast over all channels of Doordarshan in Hindi followed by the English version.
