Churachandpur : In response to the rising number of dengue cases across Churachandpur town and adjoining areas, Assam Rifles organised a comprehensive preventive fogging drive on 25 August 2026. The public health initiative was undertaken across multiple vulnerable and densely populated locations in Churachandpur district, Manipur, including Dawn School, Thingkangphai Village, Veng, St Paul School and Maulbem Village.

Covering both educational institutions and surrounding residential neighbourhoods, the drive aimed to reduce mosquito breeding sites, minimise vector density and curb the risk of further disease transmission among local residents. By extending proactive vector control measures to school premises and public places, the initiative successfully complemented ongoing community hygiene efforts to foster a cleaner, safer environment. The timely intervention effectively safeguards the health and well-being of the local population, mitigating health risks particularly for students, teachers, children and vulnerable groups across the district.
