Imphal: Manipur recorded 8 Covid related deaths, 442 positive cases (440 general population, 2 CAPF) and 598 recoveries in the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Saturday, as per an official release from the Covid-19 Common Control Room.
The 8 persons who succumbed to the deadly virus include 3 from Imphal East, 2 from Imphal West and 1 each from Bishnupur, Senapati and Thoubal. The cumulative death toll in the state with these 8 deaths now stands at 1,747.
6 of those who succumbed had co-morbidities while none of them had been vaccinated.
The 440 persons (204 males, 236 females) from the general population who tested positive include 187 from Imphal West, 69 from Imphal East, 48 from Bishnupur, 19 from Churachandpur, 18 each from Ukhrul and Thoubal, 17 from Tamenglong and Kakching, 16 from Kamjong, 5 from Chandel and 3 from Noney.
Altogether, a total of 3,645 persons were tested accounting for a positivity rate of 12.1% in the state on Saturday.
Meanwhile, 598 persons were discharged which include 220bfrom home isolation, 187 from CHICs, 166 from CCCs, 15 from JNIMS and 10 from RIMS.
The recovery rate in the state further improves to 94.68 %.
The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,10,657 (General Population – 1, 06,569, Central Security Personnel – 4,088). The cumulative number of recovered cases is 1,04,771 (General Population – 1,00,715, Central Security Personnel – 4,056). The number of active cases is 4,139(General Population – 4,112, Personnel – 27).
Altogether 6,449 persons were vaccinated on August 20, 2021. The cumulative number of vaccination is 14, 79,052 (1st dose 11,75,371, 2nd dose 2,98,681).
The total number of vacant hospital beds available in the state as on August 21, is 380 which include 304 general beds and 85 ICU/HDU beds.
The total number of beds available in Covid Care Centers in the state is 3547 out of which 1034 are occupied and 2513 are vacant.
