Popular Tamil film comedian Jr.Balaiah no more

He was 70. Junior Balaiah, who had acted in his first film in 1975, was son of of legendary yesteryear actor and comedian T. S. Balaiah.

Chennai: Popular Tamil film comedian Junior Balaiah passed away at his residence in Chennai on Thursday.

He was 70. Junior Balaiah, who had acted in his first film in 1975, was son of of legendary yesteryear actor and comedian T. S. Balaiah.

Balaiah, who has acted in more than 100 films mostly in comedy and supporting roles right through his career spanning more than four decades, suffered sudden breathing problems and died.

He has acted in popular films like ‘Karakattakaran’, ‘Gopura Vasalile’, ‘Saattai’,

‘Sundara Kaandam’, ‘Raasukutti”, ‘Veetla Visheshanga’, among others.

The funeral will take place tomorrow, family sources said.

The Tamil film industry condoled his death and various actors and artistes visited his Valasaravakkam residence in the city and paid their last respects.
