Poll-bound Churachandpur braces to speed up covid-19 vaccination

The District Administration has lined up plans to conduct Covid-19 vaccination at 35 polling stations within 59-Saikot A/C and another 35 PSs within 58-Churachandpur A/C on Saturday.

Churachandpur: The Churachandpur District Administration and the District Health authority have pulled their sleeves to boost Covid-19 vaccination drive in the district.

The District Administration has lined up plans to conduct Covid-19 vaccination at 35 polling stations within 59-Saikot A/C and another 35 PSs within 58-Churachandpur A/C on Saturday.

It may be mentioned here that in an attempt to speed up vaccination in the poll bound districts of Churachandpur and Pherzawl, the Additional CS Vumlunmang Vualnam convened a review meeting on Thursday at the DC’s Office here.

And in line with yesterday’s meeting, BLOs and ASHAs are required to accompany the vaccination team in their respective polling stations and mobilize the public. The team will also cover five schools and another five villages tomorrow apart from the fixed vaccination sites. 

At the same time, the District Health authority has opened Covid-19 vaccination centre for all (15+, 18+ and precautionary dose) at District Immunization Centre near District Hospital daily from 10 am to 5 PM. 

Meanwhile, there are 78 (35 M & 43 F) active Covid-19 cases in the district as of Friday. There are 12 (7 M & 5 F) new cases today and 23 (14 M and 9 F) have recovered. The daily positivity rate stands at 11.14 percent.

Meanwhile,  On the 4th day of the nomination process, Hangkhanpau Taithul, a former minister and president Janata Dal (United) Manipur filed his nomination for the 1st phase of Manipur Legislative Assembly Polls Friday. He submitted his nominations to the RO of 60-Singhat (ST) AC. 

At the same time, second round of training for personnel drafted for duty in the Feb 27 poll began Thursday at Rengkai Govt Higher Secondary School. The District Election Officer/DC has also arranged a special training session for absentee personnel on Feb 7 at Rengkai Govt Higher Secondary School.
