Hyderabad: Days after the Supreme Court refused to entertain a plea of 14 political parties led by the Congress alleging arbitrary use of central probe agencies against opposition leaders, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday took a dig at the parties, by not naming them, stating it has dealt them a shock.
Speaking at a public meeting at Parade ground here, Modi said ‘Today Modi has attacked this real root of corruption. That’s why these people are shaken and anything that is being done is out of anger”.
The PM was referring to the political parties after they moved the Court as a protest that Investigating agencies such as CBI and ED are being increasingly deployed in a selective and targeted manner with a view to completely crush political dissent and upend the fundamental premises of a representative democracy.
Noting the similarities between corruption and nepotism, the Prime Minister reiterated that corruption starts to flourish when there is nepotism. “Control is the main mantra of familyism and dynastic politics”, he added.
