Imphal: The Police Commemoration Day was observed today at the Manipur Police Memorial, 1st Manipur Rifles Battalion to honour and remember the police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty. The names of 188 (one hundred eighty-eight) Police personnel from all parts of the country who attained martyrdom during the period from September 1, 2022, to August 31, 2023, were read out.
Led by the Director General of Police, Manipur Rajiv Singh, officers and personnel of Manipur Police Department placed wreaths at the memorial stone. A commemoration parade followed by a two-minute silence was also observed to honour the martyred police personnel.
The Police Commemoration Day was also observed across all the District Police and Battalions in both hill and valley districts.
