Srinagar: J&K Police on Saturday arrested two alleged drug peddlers in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district in separate raids.
Police said in the first case a drug peddler was arrested during patrolling at the Babgund area of Pulwama.
“During patrolling the police party intercepted a Maruti car coming towards Pulwama. During the search of the said vehicle 15 bottles of codeine, 16 Kg of Bang Patri and 100 gms of charas were recovered,” a police spokesman said.
The accused driver identified as Parvaiz Ahmad Sheikh, a resident of Kangan Pulwama driver was arrested and the vehicle also has been seized.
In this regard, a case under NDPS Act was registered and an investigation has been taken up.
In another incident on specific information, a police team from Police Station Pulwama acted swiftly and conducted a raid at a specific location at village Arigam Pulwama.
“During the search 15 kg of Bang Patri was recovered from the residential house of Mudasir Ahmad Dar. The accused was arrested,” the spokesman said
A case under NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Pulwama and an investigation has been set into motion.
