PM Modi joins DGP-IGP conference in Lucknow

Lucknow: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reached the Uttar Pradesh police headquarters here on Sunday to join the third and last day of the 56th DGPs/IGPs conference.

PM Modi has reached the DGP headquarters at 9:15 am where he was welcomed by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and top police officers.

Thereafter, PM Modi went straight to the conference hall on the ninth floor of the UP police Signature building. Immediately after the arrival of the PM, a discussion started on various issues one by one.

PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will attend the conference for the entire day and in the last PM will address the delegates and will give his remarks and suggestions on presentations made yesterday and today, sources here on Sunday said.

After a day-long discussion yesterday PM Modi tweeted, ” Took part in the DGP/IGP conference in Lucknow. This is an important forum in which we are having extensive deliberations on modernisation of our police set-up.”

On the second day of the conference of DGPs and IGPs of different states of the country yesterday, there was a whole day brainstorming on various issues including the internal security of the country.

Yesterday, the presentation was also given on internal security, a new challenge of cybercrime and its solution, present-day challenges facing narcotics. Security-related topics like Left Wing Extremism and border management were also discussed at the conference. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was present in all the sessions.

After attending the conference PM Modi and other dignitaries will leave for New Delhi late in the evening today.
