Srinagar: Higher reaches of Kashmir valley are likely to receive light snow while many parts of plains may experience light rain during the next 24 hours, officials said.
Meteorological Centre Srinagar forecast generally cloudy weather with Light rain/snow at Kupwara, Baramulla, Handwara, Uri, Gulmarg and Shopian of Kashmir Division from Monday late afternoon onwards.
It said the weather will remain dry with occasionally cloudy weather from February 21-24 while generally cloudy with Light Rain/snow at isolated to scattered higher reaches of Kashmir Division during February 26 and February 28 is expected.
Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, recorded the minimum temperature at 5.3 degree Celsius on Monday against 6.7 degree Celsius the previous night. It was 4.4 degree Celsius above normal during this period of the season.
Qazigund on Srinagar-Jammu national highway had a low of 3.1 degree Celsius against 4.4 degree Celsius against, while Kokernag had a low of 3.7 degree Celsius against 4.1 degree Celsius a day ago.
Tourist hot spot of Pahalgam in south Kashmir recorded a low of 1.7 degree Celsius against 2.1 degree Celsius the previous night. It was 5.7 degree Celsius above normal during this period of the season.
Kupwara recorded at 4.5 degree Celsius against 5.1 degree Celsius which was 4.8 degree Celsius above normal for the frontier district.
Gulmarg in north Kashmir had a low of 0.2 degree Celsius against 2.0 degree Celsius recorded the previous night. It was 6.9 degree Celsius above normal for the famous ski resort on Sunday, MeT office said.
