New Delhi: A Delhi court on Friday relaxed the conditions of parole granted to Gaurav Lora, arrested in connection with the murder of junior wrestler Saga Dhankar.
Gaurav was arrested along with Olympian wrestler Sushil Kumar and 17 others on charges of murder, attempt to murder, rioting, unlawful assembly, and other sections including criminal conspiracy.
Counsel for Gaurav sought modification in parole conditions. The court has asked him to deposit Rs. 20,000 as expenses with the jail authorities.
He submitted that the applicant belongs to a very poor family and is not in a position to deposit the said amount.
Additional Sessions Judge Shivaji Anand said: “Keeping in view the submissions, and also considering the fact that the applicant has been granted custody parole for examination purposes, the amount of Rs. 20,000 which was required to be deposited … is now reduced to Rs. 10,000.”
