Panchayati institutions bypoll in Himachal on August 10

Hamirpur (Himachal Pradesh): The by-elections to various Panchayati raj institutions where seats have fallen vacant would be held on August 10 in Himachal Pradesh including the Hamirpur district.

On Saturday, District Election Officer (Panchayat) cum Deputy Commissioner Debashweta Banik said that the model code of conduct, which was implemented from July 14 in the gram panchayats where by-elections are to be held, will remain in force till the completion of the election process.

Elections would be held in the Gram Panchayat Bhumpal of development block Nadaun, Gram Panchayat Dharog of development block Hamirpur, Gram Panchayat Tippar of development block Bijri, Ghodidhaviri, Dain, Garli, Gram Panchayat of Bamsan, Samirpur Amman, Panjot, Darvyar, Gavardru, Gram Panchayat of development block Hamirpur By-elections will be held in Gram Panchayat Rangad of Sujanpur block and Gram Panchayat Dhamrol in Bhoranj block.

She said that the notification of the program to fill the vacant posts in Panchayati Raj institutions in the Hamirpur district has been issued. Scrutiny of nomination papers will be done till the completion of work from 10 am on July 28, nomination papers can be withdrawn from 11 am to 3 pm on July 30.

She said that the list and symbol would be allotted to the contesting candidates immediately after the withdrawal of nominations on July 30. Notification of polling stations will be issued on or before July 25.
Voting will be held on August 10 from 8 am to 4 pm.
