One succumbs, 59 more get infected Saturday in Manipur

The person who succumbed to the deadly virus is from Imphal East and he had not been vaccinated. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 1,920.

Imphal: Manipur reported one Covid related death, 59 new positive cases (58 general population, one CAPF)  and 48 recoveries in the last 24 hours leading up to 2 pm of Saturday, as per an official release from the health department.

The person who succumbed to the deadly virus is from Imphal East and he had not been vaccinated. The cumulative death toll in the state now stands at 1,920.

Of the 58 persons who tested positive from the general population, 28 of them are from Imphal West, 15 from Imphal East, three each from Bishnupur, Chandel and Senapati, Two from Thoubal and one each from Tengnoupal, Tamenglong Churachandpur and Kangpokpi.

Altogether, 1,822 persons were tested giving a positivity rate of 3.2 %.

Meanwhile, 48 persons recovered and were discharged, 10 of them from home isolation, 27 from CCCs, six from JNIMS and five from RIMS.  For various reasons 173 persons were reported as discharged only on Saturday, so the total persons discharged is considered as 227 after reconciliation with IDSP team, hone isolation team community isolation team and hospitalization team as of October 3. The recovery rate in the state now stands at 97.87 %.

The cumulative number of positive cases is 1, 23,668 out of which 1,21,040 have recovered leaving 708 active cases.

The total number of doses administered on October 29, 2021, is 11,943, the cumulative number of doses administered is 19,59,083 (1st dose 12,47,590, 2nd dose 7,02,493).
