Imphal: A combined team of Imphal East police commandos and a column of 15 Assam Rifles arrested one active member of the outlawed organization, Revolutionary People Front/People Liberation Army(RPF/ PLA) from Pangei Bazar near Auto- Rickshaw parking on March 27 at around 8:40 pm.
The arrested person, namely Shanglakpam Gunindro Sharma alias Yangba (28 years) son of Sh Somendro Sharma of Heingang Mayai Leikai, Imphal East District, was handed over to Heingang Police Station, Imphal East District for taking further necessary legal action. In this regard, a case has been registered at Heingang Police Station.
Earlier on the same day, at around 6 pm, a team of Thoubal police commandos also arrested one overground worker of PREPAK (PRO) namely Laishram Nimai Meitei (51 years) son of late Chonjon Singh of Heirok Part-ll, Chingdompok Litan Makhong from his residence. The arrested person was handed over to Heirok Police Station for further legal action. In this regard, a case has been registered at Heirok Police Station, said a press note from the PRO, Manipur Police, W Basu.
