One more succumbs to Covid in Manipur Wednesday

The lone person who expired is from Imphal East, he had co-morbidities and had not been vaccinated.

Imphal: One person succumbed to coronavirus while 14 persons tested positive while 16 persons recovered and discharged In the last 24 hours leading up to 5 pm of Wednesday in Manipur, as per an official release from the Health Department. 

The lone person who expired is from Imphal East, he had co-morbidities and had not been vaccinated. The cumulative death due to Covid in the State now stands at 2146.

Of the 14 persons who tested positive, five are from Churachandpur, two from Chandel and one each from Imphal East, Imphal West, Kakching,, Kangpokpi, Thoubal and Ukhrul. Altogether, 550 persons were tested amounting to a positivity rate of 2.5 %.

Meanwhile, 16 persons, recovered, 12 of them from home isolation, two from SHRI and one each from CAPF and RIMS. The recovery rate of the state as of Monday stands at 98.40 %.

The cumulative number of positive cases in the state now stands at 1, 39, 731 of which 1, 37,393 have recovered leaving 87 active cases in the state.

As on August 23, 2022, 470 D-type oxygen cylinders and 37 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available at different health facilities in Manipur.

The status of Covid Hospital facilities in the state as on August 24, 2022 is as follows: JNIMS has a total of 38 beds out of which five are occupied and 33 are vacant. RIMS has a total of 62 beds out of which six are occupied and 56 are vacant. 

 The total number of doses administered on August 23, is 2,768 the cumulative number of doses administered is 31,61,443 1st dose 16,25,885, 2nd dose 12,99,033) and precautionary dose is 2,36,525.
