Itanagar: Covid19 claimed one more life in Arunachal Pradesh, pushing its death toll to 284.
A 79-year-old male patient with comorbidities succumbed to the disease at the Dedicated Covid Health Centre, Tezu in Lohit district on Monday night, a senior health official said on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the Northeastern state Wednesday recorded 526 fresh Covid19 infections, pushing the tally of confirmed cases to 60,598. The state also saw 375 people getting cured of the disease increasing the total number of recoveries to 56,851, he said, adding that the state’s active caseload stood at 3463.
Of the new detections, Itanagar Capital Complex again registered the highest number of cases at 225, followed by Lower Subansiri at 42, Namsai (38), Lohit (36), West Kameng (30), Lower Dibang Valley (28), East Siang (24), Changlang (18), Papum Pare (14), Longding (11) and Dibang Valley (10). 248 of the total cases turned out to be asymptomatic and 278 symptomatic, the official said, while adding that the day’s positivity rate was 29.90 per cent, which stood at 29.96 per cent on Tuesday.
The state tested 1759 samples for Covid19, taking its cumulative figure to 12,30,582. On the other hand, 2916 people, including 454 in the 15-18 years age group, have received Covid19 vaccine jabs during the last 24 hours, taking Arunachal’s cumulative vaccination coverage to over 15.67 lakh, State Immunization Officer Dr D Padung said.Â
