One Kuki Liberation Army cadre nabbed with AK rifle in Manipur’s Churachandpur Dist

A combined team of Manipur police and the Indian Army also launched a joint operation in Kwakta village under the Bishnupur district of Manipur.

Imphal: Troops of Assam Rifles Friday apprehended one active cadre of Kuki Liberation Army (KLA) in the general area of Bijang along the Manipur River in Churachandpur district. 

The team also recovered one AK-56, one 7.62 mm Self Loading Rifle, ammunition and other stores. The apprehended individual and recovered items have been handed over to the police.

Arms, ammunition and contraband recovered

On the other hand, acting on specific intelligence of the presence of arms, ammunition and smuggling of contraband in general Y Junction near Rana Top, in Chandel District of Manipur Assam Rifles, established a mobile vehicle check post. 

The vigilant troops intercepted two vehicles and recovered 2.6 Kgs of Brown Sugar worth approximately 5 crores, one 9 mm Pistol, two Single barrel 12 bore gun, ammunition and war-like stores. The seized items were handed over to the Police, according to a press note from the PRO, IGAR(S).

Joint operation launched in Bishnupur

A combined team of Manipur police and the Indian Army launched a joint operation in Kwakta village under the Bishnupur district of Manipur. During the operation, two single-barrel rifles, one mortar, eleven grenades, mines, ammunition and other war-like stores were recovered.

This successful operation showcases the ability to take swift and decisive action by the joint forces and exhibits exemplary coordination in maintaining security in the area.

The recovered items were handed over to police, said a press note from the PRO (Defence), Manipur, Nagaland and Southern Arunachal Pradesh.
