Odisha reports 193 new COVID positive cases and two fatalities in the last 24 hours

Bhubaneswar: The cumulative tally of COVID-19 cases in Odisha went up to 10,52,834 with the reporting of 193 fresh cases in the state during the past 24 hours, health officials said here on Sunday.

Health and Family Welfare department sources said out of the 193 fresh cases 112 were reported from Quarantine centres and 81 were local contact cases.

It included 34 cases in the age group of 0 to 18.

The state has now 1,894 active cases.

Khordha district remained at the top in the case tally with 107 cases, followed by Cuttack with 17 cases.

Official sources said the state reported 2 COVID deaths in the past 24 hours. The deceased included a 62-year-old male from Bhubaneswar and a 72-year-old male from Balasore.

With this, the total number of COVID fatalities in the state went up to 8,444.

During the period 219 more COVID patients were cured and discharged from the hospital taking the total recoveries in the state to 10, 42,243.
