Patna: Eminent poll strategist Prashant Kishore on Friday said that recently held “Chintan Shivir” of Congress in Udaipur failed to yield any result, other than prolonging theĀ  status quo in the party.

Kishor tweeted, ” I have been repeatedly asked to comment on the outcome of Udaipur Chintan Shivir”. ”

“In my view, it failed to achieve anything meaningful other than prolonging the status quo and giving some time to the Congress leadership, at least till the impending electoral rout in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh”, he noted.

Poll strategist who had given a presentation before Congress leadership recently on measures required to be taken for revival of the party, was offered to join the Congress. He had insisted for a clear road map on how his suggestions to revive the party would be implemented.

Congress leadership had instead given indication that the party would constitute a high level ‘Empowered Action Group’ (EAG) to look into suggestions of Prashant Kishor and offered him to become a member of EAG.

Kishor refused to accept the offer, saying any committee without statutory power would not be able to implement his suggestions.

Later, Kishor had announced to embark on 3000 KMs ” Pad Yatra”(march) from October 2 from Champaran in Bihar this year to know the real issues and problems being faced by the people.

He had also said that on getting feedbacks during interaction with the people in Pad Yatra and seeking views from people of various sections of the society, the possibility of floating a new party would be explored.
