No new plans to offer financing to Sri Lanka, says World Bank

Colombo: The World Bank has said that at the moment it does not plan to offer new financing to Sri Lanka until an adequate macroeconomic policy framework is put in place by the country’s leaders, it was reported on Friday.

The World Bank stressed that Sri Lanka needed to undertake structural reforms that focused on economic stabilization and address the root structural causes that led to the present crisis.
