Imphal: The Manipur government on Wednesday announced ‘No Fly Zone’ at four locations in Bishnupur district ahead of Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to the state on Friday, January 6, 2022.
The Union Minister would be visiting Manipur to inaugurate various projects worth Rs 300, Chief Minister N Biren Singh said earlier. The projects include Olympian Park and the hoisting of the tri-colour at the INA headquarters.
Shah will lay the foundation stone for a Rs 1,000 crore project.According to the Chief Minister, he will also award all poppy farmers who have adopted alternatives.
At least a one-kilometre radius on the stretch of NH-2 from Torbung till INA HQ; Moirang, INA HQ, Moirang; Chengei Lampak, Moirang; and the stretch of NH-2 from Chengei Lampak till Ngangkhalawai Helipad Ground, where the Union Minister is expected to travel, would be ‘no fly zone’ for drones and UAV, said a statement issued by the District Magistrate, Bishnupur, on Wednesday.
All unattended vehicles and construction materials piled up, if any, along the route shall be cleared by the person or owner concerned on or before 10 a.m. on January 5, 2023, failing which necessary action shall be initiated by the Superintendent of Police, Bishnupur district, it further said.
