Patna: Chairman of JD(U) parliamentary board Upendra Kushwaha on Friday said Chief Minister Nitish Kumar would succeed in uniting the opposition at the national level to take on the Narendra Modi government in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Kushwaha told media persons here that Kumar had recently visited New Delhi to meet top opposition leaders to forge unity at the national level for ousting the Narendra Modi government in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. If needed, Kumar would go to New Delhi again to meet opposition leaders, he added.
The JD (U) leader took strong exception to the statement of BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi about Kumar meeting RJD chief Lalu Prasad frequently, saying it was natural for him to meet Prasad as he was an influential opposition leader at the national level.
The BJP leader had no business to comment on the issue as Kumar was not expected to seek his suggestion on whom he should meet, he quipped.
