Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Monday reiterated his demand for special status to Bihar saying the state would have moved on the path of development far ahead, special demand been accepted.
Kumar while addressing a function organised for handing over appointment letters to newly recruited clerks and junior engineers, said that his government had been demanding special status for Bihar since long but it was not accepted.
Special status for poor and backward states like Bihar was needed to ensure its development at rapid pace, he added.
” Despite limited resources, state government has successfully executed various welfare and development schemes in Bihar which increased the income of the people”, Chief Minister said, adding that he had directed the Water Resources Department to expedite the process for filing up vacant posts.
It was heartening to note that appointment letters were handed over to more than one thousand newly recruited clerks and engineers, he further added.
