Guwahati: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has conducted searches at 16 locations in seven districts of Assam in connection with the activities of the banned United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA), including the recruitment of youths, an official said on Saturday.

The NIA said the action also followed allegations of extortion of money and radicalization of youths for training camps in Myanmar.

The searches led to the seizure of live ammunition and incriminating documents and literature in Kamrup, Nalbari, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Sadiya, Charaideo, and Sibasagar.
