Nepali’s inclusion in CAPF recruitment exam demanded

The 14 NBVM members representing the Indian Gorkhas, have requested for an investigation into the reasons behind the non-inclusion of Nepali and have appealed for including the language in the examination.

Gangtok: An organisation claiming to champion the cause of the Nepali language has requested Union Home Minister Amitah to arrange to include the language in the examination for recruitment to posts in the Armed Police Force
The organisation Nepali Bhasha Vikas Munch observed that the Nepali language was missing from the said examination. Expressing surprise, the organisation’s president Gokul Sinha on Saturday requested Shah and sikkim Chief Minister PS Tamang to see to it so that the language was included in the examination.
The 14 NBVM members representing the Indian Gorkhas, have requested
for an investigation into the reasons behind the non-inclusion of Nepali and have appealed for including the language in the examination.
“It is commendable that the Government is willing to administer the
written examination in 13 different languages, but regrettably Nepali
has not been included. Nepali was recognised as an official language
and included in the 8th schedule (August 1992) along with Manipuri and
Konkani.
“While Manipuri and Konkani have been included in the
recruitment process (of CA Police) Nepali has been
left out,” said Gorkhas of India in a letter to
Shah and Tamang.
