Bijapur: A constable of the Chhattisgarh Armed Force’s 22nd Battalion has been murdered by Naxals within Gangaloor Police Station limits of this district in Left-wing extremism-affected Bastar division.

“Const Arjun Kudiyam was on leave and undergoing treatment at his native village Dhanora. He was abducted during the intervening night and killed on suspicion of being an informer.”

The corpse was dumped at a culvert on the Madkampara Reddy Road. A pamphlet found next to the body accused the victim of killing tribal folk and looting them. It warned that every public enemy would be eliminated by the People’s Liberation Guerrilla Army.

The Gangaloor Area Committee of the Communist Party of India (Maoist) has taken responsibility for the homicide. Our officers are at the scene,” Superintendent of Police Kamalochan Kashyap said on Friday.
