Nature Club Haoreibi holds ‘plastic free campaign’

Around 50 young volunteers, mostly school going students, collected scattered plastics, and other non-biodegradable wastes from roadsides and public places by maintaining Covid protocol.

Imphal: Nature Club, Haoreibi, a recently formed social organization, has conducted a ‘plastic-free campaign’ in and around Haoreibi, Imphal West Sunday.

Around 50 young volunteers, mostly school going students, collected scattered plastics, and other non-biodegradable wastes from roadsides and public places by maintaining Covid protocol.

The nature concerned youth, wearing T-shirts with inscribed message SANGHANLASL NALHANLASI, LAMDAMSE, managed to collect a huge quantity of plastics and other non-biodegradable wastes. The collected stuff has been disposed of through a solid waste management plant, situated in the village, said a statement by the Club.

It may be noted that the “Nature Club, Haoreibi” was moulded with the motto of keeping the locality Green, Neat & Clean. 

Keeping in mind the alarming climate change and deteriorating environment, the enthusiastic students pledged to dedicate themselves to a better tomorrow. Members of the young body decided to organize a series of activities in coming weeks, months without compromising their academic endeavours, it further said.
