National Water Awards 2020 -21

Urban local bodies, village authorities, individuals and interested corporates in Ri Bhoi District are invited to file their nominations for awards appropriate to their categories and the last date for receiving entries is 10th Feb. 2021.

Shillong: The Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi District, Nongpoh has informed that the Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India is inviting entries for the 3rd National Water Awards for 2020-21 as part of its efforts to encourage and felicitate individuals and organizations for adopting innovative practices to augment groundwater, rainwater harvesting, recycling of water and other steps to ensure creation of a culture of better water resources management.

Urban local bodies, village authorities, individuals and interested corporates in Ri Bhoi District are invited to file their nominations for awards appropriate to their categories and the last date for receiving entries is 10th Feb. 2021.

The detailed list of categories and other related information can be obtained from the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Ri Bhoi District, Nongpoh during office hours.

It is worth mentioning here that the Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation is tasked with the effective management of water resources in the country and with an objective to encourage all stakeholders, including civil organizations, village authorities, urban local bodies, corporates and individuals working in this sector, the Department has been organizing the National Water Awards (NWAs) since the year 2018. The Central Ground Water Board (CGWB) has been made the nodal agency for submission of application forms etc for awards and for further information in this regard, the public can also visit the websites www.mowr.gov.in  or  www.cgwb.gov.in.
