Imphal: The Inspector General of Assam Rifles (South) flagged in the National Integration Tour of Youth of Manipur under the Assam Rifles’ Civic Action Program at Mantripukhri Garrison on Thursday. The tour began on January 8 where a total of 20 youths of Manipur, including 14 boys and six girls, were taken on an enriching journey to Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam.
The primary objective of this tour was to allow the youth to experience the cultural diversity and rich heritage of Southern India while familiarising them with the developments and progress made in these cities. It aimed to broaden their horizons, inspire them, and inculcate a sense of national unity and integration.
During their visit to Hyderabad, the participants had a chance to explore Hyderabad’s iconic tourist attractions and interact with distinguished senior officials from the Armed Forces. One of the tour’s highlights was the visit to the prestigious Air Force Academy at Dundigal. The group also toured several Army establishments and met with accomplished sports personalities, further encouraging them to pursue excellence in their respective fields.
The second leg of the journey took the youth to Visakhapatnam, where they visited the Eastern Naval Command and other significant tourist spots in the city. The tour culminated with a visit to Kolkata, where the participants engaged with the Army Commander of the Eastern Command. These interactions provided the youth with valuable exposure to all three services of the Armed Forces and the vital role played by security forces in national security, stated a press note from the PRO, IGAR(S).
